A departmental public-safety partnership under lawful police administrative authority subject to law, labor and professional standards; advances once partner agreements are signed.
The problem
Ybor's 7th Avenue is one of Tampa's most beloved places — and one where late-night safety worries keep families away. Bar owners, workers and visitors all want the same thing: a vibrant district that doesn't come with a safety tradeoff.
The plan
The city creates a Public Safety Partnership Zone along 7th Avenue, bringing police, business owners, workers and community groups into one coordinated plan for the corridor.
Partner agreements spell out who does what — lighting, presence, crowd management, emergency response — so the district's energy is protected by design, not luck.
How you’ll know it’s working
- Partner agreements signed
- Coordinated safety plan published
- Incident trends on the corridor
- Business and visitor confidence feedback
