A departmental transparency program under lawful police administrative authority; advances once partner agreements and baseline-data gates are satisfied.
The problem
Right now, residents mostly learn about neighborhood safety from rumors and headlines. Without clear, honest information, fear fills the gap — and accountability is impossible when the numbers stay hidden.
The plan
A neighborhood safety dashboard puts clear, readable public-safety information online for every Tampa neighborhood — what's happening, what's being done about it, and whether it's getting better.
Baseline data is established first so the dashboard shows honest trends, and partner agreements make sure the information is accurate and responsibly shared.
How you’ll know it’s working
- Dashboard launched with neighborhood-level data
- Baseline metrics published
- Regular update cadence maintained
- Resident use and feedback on the tool
From the Blueprint
- Dashboard publishes anonymized trends: calls for service, response times, hotspots, resource allocation.
- Pairs data with problem-resolution timelines and the RX service-level reporting loop.
- Civic Insights owns KPI definitions and redaction rules; TPD validates operational interpretations.
- Expands Tampa's existing calls-for-service public view: weekly window, delayed posting, daily updates.
- First public release in Days 91-180, aggregate and privacy-protected.
