Faster Vendor & TaskTampa Payment

TOT-P1-C04-003

Local vendors and workers paid fast, paid fairly.

Delivery conditions

Detailed schedule is not established in the supplied canonical timeline. Timing shown is v1 editorial sequencing, subject to the source gates.

Executive direction; fiscal model required before implementation.

The problem

Small local businesses that do work for the city wait far too long to get paid. Slow payment is a tax on the smallest vendors — and it pushes local firms out of doing business with their own city.

The plan

The city commits to paying vendors — including businesses in the TaskTampa vendor network — faster, with payment timelines tracked and published. A fiscal model comes first so faster payment is sustainable, not a one-time gesture.

Payment performance becomes a published metric the city is judged on, quarter after quarter.

How you’ll know it’s working

  • Fiscal model for faster payment completed
  • Vendor payment timelines published
  • Local vendor participation tracked

From the Blueprint

  • Moves the city’s top 50 vendors from 3–5 day ACH cycles to instant digital settlement.
  • TaskTampa workers get paid the moment a job is marked complete through an instant payout API.
  • Permit fees sit in smart-contract escrow and release automatically on cryptographic sign-off by city inspectors.
  • Roles: City Insights/CIO on CitySync integration, Finance on vendor onboarding, the TaskTampa team on the worker payout API.
Settlement lag is a hidden tax on the local economy.
